Osteopathy
Osteopaths use hands-on treatment techniques to help with a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and nerve pains, including neck and back pains, shoulder and upper limb injuries, lower limb injuries, headaches and postural strains.
Their approach focuses on how all parts of the body work together, aiming to better understand why their patient’s pain or injury has occurred in the first place, to help reduce further injury and recurrence of their pain in the future. This might also involve exercises being prescribed, or discussion about other key lifestyle strategies to help along the way.
Treatment can be very versatile, adapted safely to a wide range of patients from infants through to the elderly, and also during pregnancy. It often involves specific hands-on treatment of muscles and joints to release areas of tightness and restriction, for improved mobility and movement in an area, and better circulation and nerve function to assist the body with its healing.
